Authentic mid-20th Century hand-painted icon with nice detail.  Wooden frame hand-painted with gesso base and linen corded edges, in traditional fashion.  Two small areas of chipping to edges are noted, along with typical cracking to paint/gold leaf and some fading.  Measures 5 1/2 X 7 1/2 X 3/4 inches.  Unsigned, which is typical of the the period when most works were anonymous, in line with traditional ascetic humility
