Vintage Swiss Oris gentleman’s manual-wind wristwatch, dating approximately to the late 1940s–1950s.

A particularly attractive example with a silver/champagne dial featuring a stepped, almost pie-pan style layout, finely textured outer chapter ring, applied gilt hour markers, matching dauphine hands and subsidiary seconds at 6 o’clock.

The dial is signed:

Inside is the signed Oris calibre 581, a 17-jewel hand-wound mechanical movement.

The case measures approximately 33mm across x 40mm lug-to-lug, excluding the crown. The caseback is marked “Lunette Plaqué G 10 Microns / Fond Acier Inox”, indicating a 10-micron gold-plated case/bezel with stainless-steel back.

Fitted to a vintage-style gold-tone expanding bracelet which will comfortably accommodate an approximately 18cm wrist.

The watch is currently running, winding and setting correctly. As with any vintage mechanical watch, no guarantee of modern chronometer accuracy or water resistance is implied unless specifically tested.

Condition is very presentable for its age, with expected age-related wear to the case and bracelet and light marks/patina barely visible on the dial and crystal. Please study the photographs carefully as they form part of the description.

A very characterful mid-century Oris with a far more decorative dial than most examples from the period.
