Charming early antique English teapot decorated with a detailed black transfer-printed landscape scene depicting a country house surrounded by trees with figures in the foreground. Black line decoration accents the rim, handle, spout and lid.
Condition: This is an antique piece with significant old damage and repairs and should be considered a display or collection piece rather than functional tableware. The tip of the spout has been repaired. The bottom portion of the handle is cracked and repaired. The lid finial was broken off and reattached. There are additional areas of old repair/restoration visible as cream/tan-colored material, along with glaze crazing, discoloration, surface wear and losses associated with age. The teapot has a wonderful early English pottery appearance and displays beautifully despite its extensive history of old repairs.
