Male Calopteryx splendens damselfly.

The species identification is based on visual characteristics and may not be 100% accurate.

The specimen is in generally good condition. I am grading it A2 because the rear right leg is missing.

The wings are partially transparent near the body, with dark coloration covering most of the remaining wing area.

Because of the strong blue iridescence, the coloration changes noticeably depending on the viewing angle and lighting. You will receive the exact specimen shown in the photos.

About My Store

I offer authentic, deceased specimens that are carefully dried and prepared.

Most specimens are spread before drying, so they arrive ready to mount and make the process easier for you.

To mount a specimen, carefully unwrap it, apply a small drop of Elmer’s glue to the underside—usually the belly—and position it in your frame. The glue generally dries within 10–15 minutes, after which you can close the frame.

If you would like to change the position later, the specimen must first be rehydrated, repositioned, and dried again. I recommend researching the rehydration process before purchasing so you know what is involved.

Mounting and framing services are also available. Please contact me before purchasing to discuss the frame size, style, additional cost, and estimated preparation time.

Shipping

Combined shipping is available.

Orders are sent using standard international shipping with tracking. Delivery usually takes approximately 7–21 days, depending on the destination and local postal service.

Returns

I do not accept returns for change-of-mind purchases. If there is a problem with your order, please contact me so we can discuss a suitable solution.

Contact

I usually reply quickly, but there may be delays if I am driving, sleeping, or taking a break. Please be patient if I do not reply immediately.

Eco-Friendly Packaging

I reuse clean packaging materials whenever possible to reduce waste. The outer envelope is new, while the inner boxes and protective materials are often collected from nearby offices and carefully reused.

The packaging may not always look fancy, but it is clean, practical, and protects the specimen properly.
