This is a really delightful original 1950s STRATTON Empress powder compact with a mirror, lipstick case and a space for pressed powder. I am selling it with the gold coloured Stratton branded display stand, which is not as old as the compact itself but is also a super accessory.  The hight of glamour in the mid 20th century.

In gold coloured metal, engine turned and frankly over-engineered, decorated on one side with a gorgeous paisley pattern and the other a diamond design. There's also a blank cartouche on the diamond side, so you could have it engraved with the initials of your loved one.

It is beautifully engraved with a Stratton logo on the powder compartment and also says Stratton No.1 on the cap of the lipstick. Stratton was probably the most famous compact manufacturer outside of the USA, and is certainly still the most collectable.

It has no powder or lipstick, but it is possible to buy refills from make-up counters in department stores. If you join a Stratton collectors group on social media, the will tell you where to look.

It would make a stylish display item in any for any bedroom dressing table and would be a great gift idea for any vintage lover. It could be a really special gift for a bridesmaid or maybe.

A delightful accessory for your handbag and perhaps the ideal prop for any production set in the 1970s.

In VERY GOOD vintage condition. The clasp and hinges function well. No actual damage but there are signs of use and age. Please see all photos and remember it is around 70 years old.
