"Teresa Cortez received her academic training at the António Arroio School of Decorative Arts and, since 1975, has been practicing ceramics in a factory environment (Viúva Lamego Factory) with Master Querubim Lapa. Beginning in the 1990s, she began working in her own studio where, without ever abandoning ceramics, she was also able to direct her creativity toward drawing and watercolor. Her work became known at the dawn of Portuguese contemporary art, in the already bustling cultural gatherings of the 1960s and 1970s, and continues with the breaking of the dawn at the peak of April 1974.
