Collection of 10 vintage Great Western Railway / British Railways / British Transport Commission railway staff manuals, handbooks and instruction booklets, being sold together as one lot.

These are original working railway publications rather than modern reproduction railway books and cover permanent way maintenance, civil engineering, track machinery, staff safety and operating information.

The collection includes:

* BR Western Region Sectional Appendix – South Wales

* Civil Engineering Handbook No.11 – General Instructions for Installation & Maintenance of Continuous Welded Flat Bottom Track, March 1970

* Safety of Men with On-Track Tamping and Lining Machines

* Civil Engineering Handbook No.24 – Mobile Mechanised Maintenance – December 1965 × 2

* British Transport Commission Civil Engineering Handbook No.22 – December 1961

* Civil Engineering Handbook No.8 – Instructions for staff working track relaying machines

* Great Western Railway Points for Gangers, Sub-Gangers & Permanent Way staff – 1929

* Great Western Railway Provident Society Rules – 1964

* British Railways – Your Personal Safety on the Track

A particularly interesting collection for anyone interested in GWR, British Rail Western Region, South Wales railway history, permanent way engineering or original railway staff ephemera.

These have clearly been working/reference copies and show age-related wear throughout. There are marks, staining, discolouration, handwriting/annotations, edge wear and general signs of use. The red South Wales Sectional Appendix has particularly noticeable external wear/label residue to the front.

I have not checked every page of every publication, so they are being sold as a vintage collection in the condition shown.

Please study all photographs carefully as they form an important part of the description.

All 10 items are included and will be sold together as one lot.
