This Stihl MS200 cylinder kit is a 40mm aftermarket cylinder and piston assembly kit for compatible Stihl MS200 and MS200T petrol chainsaws. It replaces worn or damaged top-end components when the cylinder is scored, the piston has lost compression or the piston ring no longer seals correctly.

The kit corresponds to replacement reference 1129 020 1202. However, chainsaw parts can vary between production periods. Therefore, compare the cylinder bore, mounting points, intake connection, exhaust port and decompression arrangement with the original components before ordering.

Before installation, inspect the crankshaft bearings, connecting rod, small-end bearing, crankshaft seals and intake components. In addition, clean the crankcase sealing surfaces carefully and prevent dirt or old gasket material from entering the engine.

Lubricate the piston, ring and cylinder with suitable two-stroke oil during assembly. Furthermore, install the piston ring in the correct orientation and make sure both circlips sit securely in their grooves. Incorrectly fitted circlips can come loose and cause serious internal engine damage.

After assembly, pressure-test the crankcase where possible. Then confirm that the carburetor supplies the correct fuel mixture and that the cooling fins remain unobstructed. Finally, allow the engine to warm gradually and avoid prolonged maximum-speed operation during the initial running period.
