3. Installation
- Turn OFF the ignition and disconnect power.
- Gently pry out the factory USB hub — no excessive force.
- Unplug the factory connector and plug it into the new hub in the correct orientation.
- Reassemble and test all functions.
Safety: install in correct orientation · keep away from water, oil & corrosives · do not modify the circuit board.
4. Wireless Setup
- Enable Bluetooth on your phone.
- Search for "SYNC3_XXXX" and pair.
- Wi-Fi connects automatically after pairing.
- Wireless CarPlay / Android Auto launches.
Bluetooth is used only for pairing — all audio, video, voice and touch data is transmitted through Wi-Fi.

Important: while Wireless CarPlay is active, do not connect another phone to USB-A. Charge via USB-C.
6. Wireless / Wired Mode Switch
- Wireless mode: wireless CarPlay / Android Auto + USB-C PD charging.
- Wired mode: switch the selector to ON — USB-A supports wired CarPlay / Android Auto; USB-C remains PD charging.
7. SYNC Menu & Disconnect
- Back to SYNC menu: no phone connected → tap CarPlay / Android Auto icon; phone connected → tap the Ford icon.
- Disconnect wireless: Wi-Fi Settings → SYNC-XXXX → Disconnect / Forget This Network.
8. FAQ
- Wi-Fi name (SSID) changed? Normal — just reconnect.
- Charge while using wireless? Yes, use the USB-C port.
- Wireless won't launch? Forget the SYNC-XXXX network, re-pair Bluetooth, try again.
- Factory features? All retained — radio, climate, camera, voice.
