Walker's KENT - a rare original Victorian hand-coloured folding map of Kent county, published by J. & C. Walker, 9 Castle Street, Holborn, London, in 1843. The map is laid on 15 sections and backed with linen, in very decorative embossed covers, and includes the River Thames estuary, River Medway, Isle of Sheppey, parts of Essex, Sussex, Surrey and Middlesex, and London. The map is in good overall condition, with some ageing and wear and a couple of faint old stains. The hand-colouring is still very good and pleasant, with the original colours well preserved and bright, as shown. Both covers are present, but the upper cover is detached. It measures approximately 16 1/2 x 13 1/2 inches or 41.5 x 34.5 cm. A very rare hand-coloured folding Victorian map of Kent for collectors.
