This listing is for a bronze medal honoring Wilfred Sampson Samuel and the reopening of the Jewish Museum in London in 1959. Wilfred Sampson Samuel was the first Chairman and main founder of the Jewish Museum in London. This medal was sculpted and signed by the Jewish medalist Paul Vincze. Samuel died December 13,1958.
This medal comes with the original fitted box. This medal measures 2 1/4" across and weighs 85 grams.

Reverse: Pictures the interior of synagogue and is captioned "SPANISH AND PORTUGUESE SYNAGOGUE / BEVIS MARKS LONDON / P. VINCZE" as well as in Hebrew "", which means "the Holy Congregation of The Gates of Heaven", which is the Hebrew name of the Bevis Marks Synagogue.
