Up for sale is a beautiful authentic 19th-century Japanese Meiji-period mixed-metal tea caddy. This exquisite antique piece features a patinated brass/bronze body adorned with striking, high-relief reddish-copper applications depicting a bird perched among blossoming wisteria branches.

The collar and outer lid showcase delicate hand-etched floral scrollwork. Crucially, the caddy retains its original inner metal sealing lid, complete with a center finial knob and fine engraved interior detailing, which served as an airtight barrier to protect premium loose tea leaves.
