Original vintage Gustavsberg Terma coffee cups and saucers, designed by renowned Swedish designer Stig Lindberg.
Produced in Sweden during 1972–1974, the Terma range is a striking example of Scandinavian design from the period. The pieces are made from bone china (Benporslin) and are hand-painted, as confirmed by the original Gustavsberg backstamps marked “HANDMÅLAD”.
The design features a glossy very dark brown/black ground with contrasting brown and white banded decoration and white interiors.
The set comprises:
* 5 coffee / demitasse cups * 6 matching saucers
This gives 5 complete cup-and-saucer sets plus 1 additional saucer — 11 pieces in total.
Approximate dimensions:
* Cup: 8 cm diameter across the rim * Cup: 5.5 cm high * Saucer: 13 cm diameter
Condition
The complete set is in very good vintage condition. All 11 pieces are free from chips and cracks.
There are a few very small marks/imperfections consistent with manufacture and age. These are minor and the set presents extremely well overall. The glaze remains glossy and the hand-painted decoration is very well preserved.
Please see the photographs for full condition details.
The original backstamps identify the pieces as:
