This beautiful button was purchased many years ago thru Ebay Canada.  The pencil writing around the button is mine and I'm sure it came from the seller's listing - this writing says this button was in the Big Book of Buttons however, it's not, it is very similar to the buttons shown.

I cannot find another button of Marie La Barre-Bennett that matches this one (I must believe it's quite rare, then), however, everything about it matches her buttons.  The initials MB are on the back and closely match other backs I've seen. The self-shank also appears to be the same as others of hers I've seen. Most importantly, the cameo itself fits perfectly in style with 3 cameos shown in the "Big Book of Buttons" 1993 Printing, page 24.

I'm new to this but I'm claiming it's a Marie La Barre-Bennett modern jasperware (blue tinted with white cameo head) button probably made in the 1950’s.

Has been labelled “Alexander the Great” in pencil on the back.

Button is about 1 1/2" tall and 1 3/16" at its widest.2.5
