DESCRIPTION This is a 1897 UK United Kingdom QV Queen Victoria East & West Africa silver medal & fixed 1897 Benin bar as shown. The medal comes with no papers, box, photo's etc, well worth research, no vendor connection. The medal is named on the rim to E. Shilling ORD HMS Theseus. Google Lens says that "The Edgar-class cruiser HMS Theseus dispatched a substantial Naval Brigade of around 550 crew members to participate directly in the Benin Punitive Expedition of February 1897"

CONDITION I will leave you to decide; please look at the photos carefully. I think the general condition is good used collectable for the age. As you can see in the photos, there are user, rub, edge knocks, handling and storage marks etc. The ribbon feels brand new. The bar is fixed on both sides of the medal.
