Selling this hard-to-find U.S. Forest Service “Bearing Tree” metal sign – a great original piece of forestry/surveying history that displays well and has real character.
This sign features the classic yellow shield design with a tree graphic and reads “BEARING TREE – U.S.”. Measures approximately 4.75" wide x 5" tall. Marked Distance .14 and Direction 5.83ºW. A unique collectible for anyone into forestry, surveying, national forests, or Americana decor.
This sign does show some authentic wear and age (see photos) from being on a tree. Surface scratches and scuffs from years in the woods (and a bit of red marking tape on the backside), but it all adds to the authenticity.
