A vintage collection of Gambols comic strips by Barry Appleby, reprinted from the Daily Express and Sunday Express — the long-running British strip following suburban married couple George and Gaye Gambol. This early numbered annual (No. 6) gathers daily and Sunday strips in classic black-and-white newspaper format, with a colour front cover depicting George and Gaye at the dressing table amid hat boxes. Printed by Purnell and Sons Ltd, Paulton (Somerset) and London. A charming piece of mid-century British newspaper comic history, scarcer than the later, more commonly found numbers in the series.
