WHO’S WHO AND WHERE IN HORSEDOM

VOLUME VI - 1954

By the late J.H. Ransom –

This is a VINTAGE “MUST HAVE” for any Saddlebred enthusiast.  460 Pages

For being “72” years old it’s in GREAT  CONDITION.  No marks or tears, binding is tight.

It’s dedicated to the late,

HENRY KNIGHT  (Thoroughbreds).   “Owner of Almahurst Farm, Coldstream Farm and Green Hills Farm, Henry is unique in his field as the largest landowner and the most prominent breeder and dealer in Thoroughbred horses in the Bluegrass region of Kentucky.”

The Saddle Horse sections always have the first page “Memories of a Railbird…” by Jim Ransom.  “20 years ago seems like yesterday… The great depression was still depressing businessmen, But Surprisingly enough, they still seemed to have money for horses.  Exhibitors were making history and paying $10,000 to $15,000 for top horses

My favorite thing about this issue is the magnificent picture of "THE SMILIN KENNY MAURER" showing the beautiful "REGAL AIRE"

This is History.  All the life stories of all the famous trainers and horses.  Sections for: Saddlebreds, Thoroughbreds, Walking Horses, Hackneys and Standardbreds.
