Antique Carved Cow Bone Fish Needle Case w/ Stanhope

English * Circa 1890s

This antique figural needle case is carved of cow (bovine) bone* in the form of a fish. Both sides have carved scales and details, and the condition is excellent with no chips or cracks.  The carved top screws in perfectly and contains a glass Stanhope with six views of Colwyn Bay. This is a seaside resort on the north coast of Wales. It measures 3 1/2" long and has a nice old patina. The Stanhope is clear and easy to read.

*This item is made of bone from a domestic cow (bovine) and NOT from an endangered species or an ivory producing species.
