This very substantial and attractive, Cast Iron, Safe form Still Bank measures approx. 9" tall and 6” by 6” at the base. It weighs approx 10 1/2lbs. The bank is made in the form of a Floor Safe and features a double dial, brass combination lock (the internal locking mechanism is lacking). Text cast into the face of the Safe reads “Fidelity Trust”. The Bank retains the original, applied decal decorations on the side panels and the top depicting pretty young women. The Safe stands on four integrally cast, non-turning wheels and retains the original, wooden insert with the original drawer. TheBank carries the mark of the manufacturer – Henry C. Hart Manufacturing Company of Detroit – on the bottom panel along with a May 12, 1885 patent date.

    This original, “Fidelity Trust” Floor Safe Form Still Bank is in very good condition. There are no cracks, breaks, chips, repairs or physical damage of any kind to the cast iron. There is some wear to the decals on the sides and top panels of the Bank as can be seen in the scans below. The surface paint is 100% original and generally well preserved on all of the surfaces except for the back side where the paint is very worn. As stated above, the Bank retains the original brass dials to the combination lock but lacks the remainder of the internal locking mechanism (see the scans below).
