Very rare and original, 1943 Coca-Cola, Heavy Paperboard Advertising Sign featuring a FANTASTIC image of a World War II Boeing “Fortress” B-17 Heavy Bomber Aircraft in action!!!

This outstanding, original Coke Sign is from a series of Hanger Signs issued by Coca-Cola in 1943 titled “America's Fighting Planes". The Sign offered here measures approx. 15" by 13" and is titled “Boeing “Fortress” B-17 Heavy Bomber – U. S. Army Air Force” and subtitled “Fighting Off the Enemy During a Bombing Mission”.

The Sign pictures three B-27 Heavy Bombers flying in formation using their top mounted guns to fight off a pair of enemy fighters as the Bombers attempt to complete their mission. One of the Nazi planes has been hit and trails a plume of smoke as it spirals to the ground while the second enemy aircraft comes under heavy fire from the Bombers. The Sign is self framed with a printed “faux-frame” border and is copyright 1943 by the Coca-Cola Bottling Company.

The only advertising on the Sign is in the lower right hand corner in the form of a classic, 10 ounce shaped bottle of Coca-Cola beside the “Red Circle” Button Trade Mark containing text that reads “Drink Coca-Cola”. The Sign is printed on a heavy weight, paperboard stock with a bright, glossy surface. The colors are bright and vibrant - bold and rich and the Sign is very attractive. The Sign retains its original braided cord hanger at the top of the verso along with the paperboard attachment that attaches the cord to the back of the Sign.

This very rare and attractive, 1943 Coca-Cola hanger type Advertising Sign is not a reproduction, reissue or restrike but is an original Sign manufactured and displayed in 1943 and it is unconditionally guaranteed to be as described here.

This outstanding and very rare, 1943 Coca-Cola World War II Military Aircraft motif, Advertising Hanger Sign is in very good condition with no staining, tears, creases, repairs or physical damage of any kind other than a few small surface scuffs at the upper right hand corner. The colors are brilliant and there is no fading or darkening to the surface. There is some wear / bumping at the corners and light wear at the edges but overall this 83 year sign is very well preserved and displays nicely!
