Those 1-1/4" quill stems are getting increasingly hard to find, especially in the right colour or model.
This precision-made adapter allows you to run a standard 1-1/8" quill stem inside a 1-1/4" steerer – giving you access to a much wider range of classic and modern quill stems.
A good example is Ringlé quill stems, where the only difference between the 1-1/8" and 1-1/4" versions is the quill diameter – the external dimensions are identical. With this adapter, you can use the more common 1-1/8" version instead.
