Vintage hand-carved wooden common loon decoy or decorative bird carving. Features a beautifully shaped low-profile body with hand-painted black, white and gray feather detailing, inset amber-colored eyes and the distinctive markings of a common loon. 

I love how the loon has a turned head and is looking towards the back.

The carving has a wonderful rustic folk art appearance and would make an excellent addition to a decoy collection, Adirondack or lake house decor, cabin decor, or a collection of carved shore and water birds.

No maker's signature was found on the bottom. Exact age and origin are unknown.
