ROLL OF THUNDER, HEAR MY CRY

by Mildred D Taylor

An ominous tale of life for an impoverished black family in 1933 Mississippi, told from the perspective of the 9-year-old daughter. Taylor's novel won the Newbery Award for 1977 and was nominated for the National Book Award.

This copy is from the true first edition, first printing. The book includes the original jacket and remain in good shape overall. The jacket shows some wear at the corners and spine ends, including a small chip and tear at the spine top; the spine top and bottom are reinforced with clear tape. The jacket also has some sunning, mostly along the spine, and the front flap is price-clipped. The book itself has light wear, fading, and foxing about the edges; the binding is sound, and the interior is in fine condition.

Not perfect, but a presentable copy of a rare and highly sought first printing, at an unusually low price.
