The History of ... Louis Moinet…. (1768-1853) was a watchmaker, sculptor and painter from Bourges, France. A contemporary of Abraham-Louis Breguet, Abraham-Louis Perrelet and Nicolas Mathieu Rieussec, he was an academic and dabbled in astronomy. Though the goals of most of his inventions were for his own use, he did sell his clocks to the likes of Napoleon Bonaparte and Thomas Jefferson. The Swiss watch brand Louis Moinet has unveiled an artifact that may change how we look at the history of timekeeping — a timekeeping device from the early 19th century, invented by the brand’s namesake, that may be the first chronograph ever created....

This stunning Louis Moinet TwinTech GMT Chronograph limited edition of 60 pieces, sports a rare Cobalt blue dial housed in a high polish case with an on a blue leather strap with a double-clasp folding deployment buckle.. This is a very large watch. The crystal is sapphire and it has anti reflective coating. The dial is Cobalt Blue with and amazing deep cut triangular pattern bursting from the center. There are large luminous hour markers and a round 24 hour GMT scale. The subdials have matte finish with unique round seconds indicator, chronograph minutes and chronograph hours. There is a date indicator at 9 inside a subdial. The GMT hand is skeletonized and is red in color. Hour and minute hands are unique in shape to Louis Moinet and this model with luminous tips. The chronograph seconds hand has a skeletonized star tip. The crown has a Louis Moinet logo engraved in it and features 2 guards attached to the case by screws. The pushers are large and sculptured to complement the case and overall design. The back of the watch has a large sapphire window showing not only the movement but in addition the spacer engraved with unique pattern.
