The majority of electrolysis cells sold online use stainless steel electrodes. This cell is built with solid Nickel 200—one of the preferred materials for alkaline hydrogen production.

Unlike stainless steel electrode cells, this electrolysis cell contains no stainless steel electrodes.

Stainless steel electrodes can generate chromium-containing corrosion products, including hexavalent chromium (Cr(VI)), during alkaline electrolysis. Because this cell uses Nickel 200 electrodes that contain no chromium, there is no chromium in the electrode material available to contaminate the electrolyte.

Nickel 200 electrodes also eliminate the iron corrosion products commonly associated with stainless steel electrode systems, helping maintain a cleaner electrolyte and reducing contamination over time.

The cell contains 11 solid Nickel 200 electrode plates, precision laser cut for consistent performance and long-term durability.

Each electrode is separated by precision machine die-cut 1/16-inch commercial-grade silicone gaskets, providing uniform plate spacing throughout the entire stack. Consistent spacing helps ensure reliable operation and uniform electrolyte flow.

The stack is compressed between thick 3/4-inch HDPE end plates, providing excellent chemical resistance while maintaining even pressure across the electrode assembly.

Heavy-duty stainless steel compression hardware securely holds the assembly together, while push-to-connect fittings make installation simple.
