Antique Sterling Silver Stiletto / Awl

English * Circa 1870s

This unusual antique stiletto has a sterling silver handle (tested) and the shank and point are metal (do not attract a magnet). Even though I've not seen one like this, the style of the shank is definitely English. English silversmiths didn't hallmark small items (and have to pay duty on them) until required to by law in 1883.

It has a scrolled design over a textured ground and a finger ring at the top. It's actually a clever design that makes it easy to use. The condition is excellent with no dents or other damage and it measures 4" long.

I stand behind everything that I offer and guarantee that it is exactly as presented.
