VINTAGE RAILWAY Silver Enamel NUR 30 Years Membership + BR Tracks Lapel and button 

A set of vintage railway badges. There are three types of standard BR track logo badge. The other is an NUR 30 year service badge, in solid silver. I think the hallmarks are Birmingham Assay 1965. My Gran's story was that my Grandfather joined the railways to avoid being called up, which would have been 1939, but of course, the badges would be made in bulk, longbeforehand. Either way, he may have avoided direct action but he was working Slade Green to London, in the Blitz and then Doodlebug alley, so not a safe place at all.
