The artwork is an original color aquatint etching titled Une rue à Tirnovo / Bulgarie ("A Street in Tarnovo / Bulgaria"), created by the famous Bulgarian artist Petar Morozov (1880–1951). 

About the Artwork

• The Location: The piece depicts a traditional, narrow cobbled street in Veliko Tarnovo, the historical medieval capital of Bulgaria. It captures the distinctive National Revival period architecture, characterized by overhanging wooden balconies and dramatic bay windows jutting out above the street. 
  
• The Medium: It is inscribed on the bottom right as an "Aquatinte originale" (Original aquatint). Aquatint is a specialized etching technique that allows printmakers to create tonal variations and watercolor-like gradations rather than just sharp lines. 
  
• The Artist: Petar Morozov was a pioneering Bulgarian painter, graphic artist, and printmaker. He studied extensively in Sofia and Paris, which explains why the print's margins are documented in French. He is highly celebrated for his atmospheric depictions of old Bulgarian towns, markets, and historical architecture. 
  
• Inscriptions on the Margin: Bottom Left: "Une rue à Tirnovo / Bulgarie" (A street in Tarnovo / Bulgaria). Bottom Right: "Aquatinte originale" (Original aquatint), followed by Petar Morozov's distinct, stylized signature and the production date (1959)
