At one time, Harry LaTrobe was the owner of Hiatt Handcuff Co. His son Peter was the technical director.
The company changed ownership once more and Peter designed his own unique handcuff and went into production of it in North Wales in 1983. He named his new company, "The LaTrobe Handcuff Company" - LTH.
Ѻ···Ѻ
His new handcuffs began production in 1984, and the "Escort" was beginning to sell.
What made these cuffs so unique (and it still is) was the double lock button which did not need a key to set it. It was simply pressed in with a finger, but the unusual aspect of the design was that one had to spread the locked wrists apart to release the blocking parts to allow the key to turn to unlock each cuff.
To make the later models more secure, a separator plate was added tween 2 pawls to prevent or minimize shimming them open. (This pair listed here, has this plate and milled out bow that interconnects with the 2 pawls)

In 1988, another change occurred, the police uniform company Toye, Kenning and Spencer contracted with LTH to produce the same cuffs under the TKS branding. A bankruptcy in 1991 caused LTH to close their doors and this action caused TKS to secure the rights to continue production on their own. They named this cuff the Type "E' model.

The cuffs listed here are in mint condition with an original key and in the original box.
The box is in great condition with one corner smashed in slightly. The box top has some minor bends.
All in all, it is 98% perfect. One tiny stain and the other corners are sharp and crisp.
No scuffs, tears or insect damage.
The cuffs are mint with no issues. They were never used and just some minute scuffs from being moved about over the years.
They have the slot/groove down the bow for anti-shimming and are made of aluminum and are identified as "Lightweight" Patrol Handcuffs,
One original key is included.
The serial number on the box matches with the cuffs.

I would use the word "Scarce" to put a name on its rarity.
Being that the only made a limited run for only a few years, they are near impossible to find and with their original box, even more impossible.
