Vintage Rado Voyager Automatic Day-Date – Black Dial – 25 Jewel ETA 2836-2

A striking vintage Rado Voyager automatic wristwatch, dating to the 1980s and featuring a particularly attractive black dial with gilt applied hour indices and matching gold-tone hands.

The dial is complemented by Rado’s distinctive red rotating anchor emblem at 12 o’clock, while the framed day/date display sits at 3. The dial can take on a subtle dark charcoal tone under certain lighting, but presents predominantly as black.

Powered by the well-regarded 25 jewel ETA 2836-2 Swiss automatic movement. The watch is running, with the day and date quickset functions both tested and operating correctly.

The angular gold-tone case is a great example of Rado’s period styling, measuring approximately 35mm wide x 38mm high, excluding the crown, with a thickness of approximately 11mm. Much of the height comes from the characterful domed acrylic crystal.

Fitted to a black leather strap with gold-tone buckle, suitable for wrists up to approximately 19cm.

The watch is in good vintage condition with visible age-related wear. There is wear, marking and loss to the gold-tone finish around the case, particularly to the edges, consistent with its age and use. The acrylic crystal also shows age-related surface marking.
