Ballard arranges the characters in overlapping rows, using bold black outlines and clean areas of red, blue, yellow, green and purple to keep each face readable despite the crowded layout. Spider-Man, Captain America, Iron Man, Hulk, Daredevil, Cyclops, Scarlet Witch, Thor, Hawkeye, The Thing and Spider-Woman are among the recognizable heroes packed into the scene. The blue-and-purple dotted background holds the lineup together without competing with it. The standout detail is how every open space becomes another character—there is almost nowhere for the eye to rest before finding someone else.
Mitch Ballard is a longtime Upper Deck sketch-card artist whose Marvel work includes Marvel Premier, Marvel Masterpieces, Avengers: Age of Ultron, Captain America: Civil War and Marvel Beginnings.
