Here is an antique utilitarian china calico button.  I am not an expert on this type of buttons, but I believe it is pattern #74; please send me a message if that's not right. It is purple on white. The button measures 9/16" in diameter: NBS size small. It is in excellent condition (the photo looks like there is a chip in the back --but there isn't).  A very charming and collectible antique button!
