This is an original antique 1894 Raphael Tuck & Sons paper doll from the Artistic Series 503, the "Dolls for All Seasons" series with the Sweet Alice doll. This charming Victorian set includes one paper doll figure and three elaborately illustrated outfits. All pieces have damage and thus are sold AS IS.

Each piece is marked “Raphael Tuck & Sons Ltd.” with patent and copyright dates of 1894. A wonderful and rare example of late 19th-century chromolithograph paper ephemera, perfect for collectors or display.

CONDITION: POOR to FAIR
(Poor-->Fair-->Good-->Very Good-->Excellent-->Mint):
The pieces show wear consistent with age, including surface soiling, staining, tears, writing on the backs and losses (see close-ups). Reinforcement tape present on the back of several pieces. Doll is missing both arms and legs, and the tape on the back of her head prevents her from properly wearing the yellow dress (the only one that still has the neck present - the others have this part torn off). Originally would have been sold with hats for each outfit, but these are not present.

MEASUREMENTS: Doll as presented is 10" x 4"

WEIGHT (w/o packaging): 1.7 oz

I aim to please, and describe every item to the best of my ability. But please note that my vintage items often received frequent use back in their day, so may show visible signs of wear and age. Personally, I wouldn't have it any other way, as I treasure those marks of the past.
