The body of the owl is composed of rose quartz in an egg shape form and is in good condition. It has been applied to the silver with an epoxy glue.

The silver is in very good condition with a nice patina. The owl is clearly hallmarked on the underside of the tail and bears two plaques (which is unusual) one marked 925 and with another indecipherable stamp and the other 925 and “ silver “.

The height of the owl is 60 mm, the width is 30 mm and the depth is 27 mm. The weight is 57 grams.

Research suggests that the owl was likely to have been made in the Americas c. 1940 - 1960’s but this needs verification.
