Item Description
This vintage Kodachrome slide captures a dark nighttime view of San Francisco’s Fisherman’s Wharf, with restaurant neon signs glowing across the waterfront. At the left, a sign reading “No. 1 Fisherman’s Wharf” is visible above a long horizontal band of neon, with additional signs for seafood, cocktails, and restaurant frontage stretching into the distance. Near the right side, the fish-shaped Alioto’s sign is clearly visible, while part of the Fishermen’s Grotto No. 9 sign appears at the far right edge. Most of the street-level detail is in deep shadow, but the illuminated signage creates a strong mid-century waterfront nightlife atmosphere.

There are visible dust specks, small surface marks, and minor edge wear typical of an unrestored early Kodachrome slide. Overall, the slide remains usable and visually interesting because of its strong San Francisco Fisherman’s Wharf neon content, but it should be understood as a dark nighttime exposure rather than a sharply detailed street view.
