This print reproduces Charles M. Russell's oil painting The Jerk Line , depicting a mule team freight wagon on the open range, a subject Russell returned to repeatedly as a chronicler of working ranch and trail life in the American West. Brown and Bigelow, the St. Paul-based calendar and print publisher, held licensing rights to a significant portion of Russell's catalog and produced some of the most widely distributed color reproductions of his work throughout the mid-20th century.

The print displays Russell's characteristic hand-printed signature with his iconic buffalo skull emblem, faithfully reproduced in the image.
