Hornwort will grow in sun or partial shade, planting could not be any easier see below... I consider hornwort to be one of the best oxygenators for a water garden, it gives superb cover for any fish and ideal for them to spawn in. It bears whorls of green bottle brush like foliage on brittle stems
What You Will Receive
3 Bunches of Hornwort with a lead strip weight wrapped around the brittle stems, and every strand is between 5 to 7 inches long I place the Hornwort in a sealed bag and then i pop in a handmade cardboard Sleeve ( mini Box ) Please make sure once opened you fully submerge in water straight away, and if any stems come loose then just re-wrap the lead strip weight back round the stems.. or just pop any loose strands straight in your pond as all parts of this plant will grow...
Please note your Bunch of Hornwort may vary in length and appearance due to the nature of the plant and the growing cycle of hornwort. ie :- new growth and older growth. Some of the plant maybe dark green and full bodied and others lighter green with light brown colouring and thinner stems. Please see photos that i have taken at different times of the year...
How to Plant
2. The natural way, just remove the lead strip weight and just gently drop your hornwort stems into your pond, this is how it grows in the wild as hornwort does not have roots. In winter it will lay dormant at the bottom of the pond, in warmer weather ( spring, summer ) it will grow up to the surface.
