Sports and sports photography have a special place in the hearts of Americans. That is why Kodak is proud to be the Official Film and Photographic Paper of the NFL, and proud to help bring you this pictorial history of the greatest runners.
The 1984 NFL season marks the golden anniversary of an NFL milestone. Fifty years ago Beattie Feathers of the Chicago Bears became the first professional football player to rush for 1,000 yards in a season. In the intervening decadesand even more so since the end of World War II the NFL running back has become one of the most dominant and symbolic of athletic figures.
