This is an antique early to mid 19th century primitive iron hogscraper push-up candle holder.

It measures 6 1/8 inches tall and is 3 5/8 inches wide at the base (15.5 cm, 9.2 cm).

I did some preliminary research but was unable to find a piece similar to this that had the extension up on the top. It seems that most of them just have the flat piece that holds the wax when it drips over. I didn’t see any with that additional piece, which makes me believe this is fairly unique.

The sliding piece moves up and down easily.

I believe it’s in good condition!

It weighs 6 ounces (172 g).
