This is an original vintage photograph of Track & Field practice at Wenonah Military Academy in New Jersey.
I would estimate it dates circa 1920s or 1930s.
The frame measures 12 5/8 inches high x 14 5/8 inches wide (32 cm x 37.1 cm). The photo measures 7 5/8 inches high x 9 5/8 inches wide (19.3 cm x 24.4 cm).
I did some preliminary research and found that the Wenonah Military Academy was founded in 1904 but closed in 1935 due to the Great Depression. Based on the frame, I would date this some time from the 1920s or 1930s.
Wenonah produced many athletes, some of them America’s foremost.
This photo, though it was probably staged, shows three men on the left side, two throwing shot put and one holding a javelin. At the center is a man at the top of the pole vault with three official/uniformed men watching. There are six men running track on the right side.
The photo itself is very clear. However, there are numerous white dots underneath the glass which may actually touch the photo, though I’m not quite sure. There are also numerous dark spots on the mat surrounding the photo, along with a water stain at the bottom on the left side.
You may want to take this out of the glass in order to clean it, though I don’t think you can clean the dark spots off the mat.
The frame has age related wear to the surface going around the exterior.
It has its original glass, though it does have some small scratches on it.
If you like this photo, don’t let those spots stop you. It has a great look about it.
It weighs 1 lb. 11 oz. (758 g).
