Vintage City of Los Angeles embroidered municipal uniform patch featuring the official city seal and “Founded 1781” lettering. Approximately 3 inches in diameter, as shown in the measurement photo. Estimated to date from the 1970s based on its embroidered construction and merrowed edge; exact age and issuing department are unknown. Sew-on patch with visible wear, discoloration and loose threads on the reverse from age and prior use. The City of Los Angeles officially adopted this seal design in 1905.
