Antique single string Phonofiddle violin by A.T Howson of England with bow. Marked with registered design number 287991 which dates the design to 1896. Intact and plays well with the sound amplified by the brass horn. Measures 32 1/2ins long with the horn protruding from the side by around 11ins and the diameter of that at 6 7/8ins. The linear bands that look like frets but are flush to the body have some missing elements although every one has some or all of its element present. The bow has no maker's marks and adjusts as it should.
