The end and a new beginning
I was born in Wellsville, N.Y. and am a fourth-generation railroader. owing up in seven communities along the lines of the Erie Railroad I 3 able to stay in Lackawanna, N.Y., from 7th grade through high tool, all the time developing a deep interest in this great railroad in-stry. My first railroad job, while still in college, was with the Buffalo eek Railroad. Later I served with the Erie Lackawanna and the New & Central railroads prior to two years active duty as a Lieutenant in ; U. S. Army Transportation Corps' Military Railway Service. After King the Army I served with the Penn Central and Conrail until 1983 ten I decided to join the world of short-line and regional railroads. is led me to Iowa and the Cedar Valley and then the Chicago, Central Pacific railroads, both of which I helped found and organize. Good tune then introduced me to Jerry Jacobson who brought me to the do Central Railroad System on August 10, 1988. My eighteen years at encompass much of this book. In 2006 I joined the Western Newark & Pennsylvania Railroad and affiliated lines as Vice President-peration and Maintenance. This final move was a homecoming of sort its Main Line serves Wellsville, N.Y., my birthplace.
