this doll is from the 1990s and not from the 1980s. She would be from between late 1991 through 1997 Pleasant Company brand. American Girl was actually the Mattel brand as Mattel changed the name of the brand from Pleasant Company to American Girl after they purchased the company in 1998.
But the beige or skin toned body and rounded off-white neck strings did not come out until late 1991"

Pantalettes

White cotton pantalettes. Elastic gathered waist. Cuffs are trimmed with white eyelet lace.

Stockings

Thick striped knit knee high stockings. Horizontal thin brown and dark yellow stripes.

Boots

Brown boots. Soft sided with a soft sole. Two holes at front with brown knotted laces.

Hair Ribbons

Two woven-cloth blue hair ribbons.

Bonnet

Red gingham print sunbonnet.

Spoon

Wooden spoon.

The first version has a rounded knob at end of handle; later versions have a straight handle.

Kerchief

Cream handkerchief. Embroidered with red lines and Xs in blue thread.
