This antique bronze statue of Zen Master Bodhidharma or Daruma is a 16cm high piece originating from China. Dating back to the early 20th century. daruma ( also known as damo) is the legendary 5th - 6th century buddhist monk or zen master from japan. He was credited with bringing zen Buddhism to china and establishing the shaolin temple tradition. the bronze has developed a lovely patina with green and blue hues. it measures 16cm high x 15cm across at the base. please see my other items for sale. good luck.
