The Loneliest Mountain is the diary-form account of the first expedition to climb Mt Minto, Antarctica's highest peak in the Admiralty Range, in 1988. Six Australian climbers sailed from Sydney aboard the small vessel Allan and Vi Thistlethwayte, battled Southern Ocean storms and pack ice, then trekked overland to make the first ascent — illustrated throughout with Jonathan Chester's colour expedition photography. Foreword by Thomas Keneally.
