Signed by its maker and dated 2007, this hand-modeled ceramic face is the work of studio artist J. Willis Jusco — signed in ink on the reverse

and again with the surname JUSCO incised into the front clay border.

This is a one-of-a-kind, hand-built earthenware portrait relief: a life-scaled face and neck rising from an irregular clay surround that naturally frames the portrait. The features are modeled in the round, and the long hair is applied as separate coils and combed by hand — not slip-cast, not a production casting. The raw, unglazed reverse shows the maker’s hand-pressed hollow and two drilled holes for hanging.
