This is an antique or vintage gold, cream and black carved wood frame.

I would estimate it dates circa 1920s or 1930s.

The overall frame measures 25 inches x 31 inches (63.5 cm x 78.7 cm). The back opening size measures 21 1/4 inches x 27 1/4 inches (54 cm x 69.2 cm). The molding width measures 2 1/4 inches (5.7 cm).

I must say this is a beautiful frame. I don’t think I’ve ever seen one quite like it. Given the way the corners are curved and how well made it is, it must have been made in a very good studio.

When you are standing just a little ways back, the discoloration on this frame tends to blend in with the overall look. However, if you look up closely, you see there are some areas that have darkened over time and some areas that have worn. Along the bottom, in addition to this, there is a small dark stain towards the right side. Personally, none of this bothers me.

The frame simply has an incredibly beautiful look about it.

There is no glass.

It weighs 4 pounds 7 1/2 ounces (2.026 kg).

It has what I always look for in frames, that wonderful old world look!
