My father bought this some years back when he and my mother used to search antique fairs for items they liked to collect. I can see why this item stood out to my father as a cigar and pipe smoker in his former years.

I have done a little research and see that this was made in Sheffield by Thomas Levesley, also known as the Levesley Brothers; they had a central works on Mary Street.

I can't tell you too much more about this, suffice to say that it had been in my parents possession for the last 45 years, I recall seeing it in a cabinet from my early teens until the passing of both parents.

I am downsizing and find a lot of items I was left with, are still in boxes and not on display due to taste and room; it would be nice to see them go to a new where they can be appreciated.

I have several other bit n pieces of silver to load as and when I get round to photographing them.

N.B.When I was taking photo's, white powder kept appearing on my slate background, and I couldn't understand where it had come from. On investigation it appears the pedestal base of the lamp was filled, presumably with plaster of paris, to weigh it down a little.
Please take not of this with regard the overall weight of the item.

Open to sensible offers, but priced keenly to go having done research on the item.
